A complex project
Singaporean production house Just Another Production had to film in two countries completely out of sequence. Given their tight budget, tight timeline and level of complexity, they turned to Chop Chop Sync and Bin to streamline their post.
Using Chop Chop Sync and Bin required some workflow changes, most notably a shift to using timecode boxes when filming.
I don’t think it was tricky… Whatever we spent on workflow changes we more than made back in time and cost savings in post.
Flexible reading of file names
Despite audio files being named in a variety of formats, there was only one occasion when the extension was unable to read them. In this case, no shot numbers had been recorded for the day. Chop Chop Systems founder Kevin Ho turned up in person to offer a solution.
The result was an over 95% reduction in syncing and binning time with much fewer errors.
I don’t have to wait for waveform analysis, or spend time looking at slates to organise rushes into scenes. I’m spending much more time on the creative and deliverables now.
