Facing a complicated schedule involving two filming blocks in two countries completely out of sequence, the producers of Knock Knock turned to ChopChop to optimise their workflow.
ChopChop suggested simple changes that had a big impact.
I don’t think it was tricky… Whatever we spent on workflow changes we more than made back in time and cost savings in post.
On set, the soundies used several audio file naming styles. ChopChop’s software processed them all without issue in the edit suite. The system only failed once when a single day of rushes lacked the required shot numbers; founder Kevin Ho immediately provided an in-person solution.
The result was a 95% reduction in edit prep, freeing the post team to concentrate on other tasks.
I don’t have to wait for waveform analysis, or spend time looking at slates to organise rushes into scenes. I’m spending much more time on the creative and deliverables now.
